The two-day workshop is aimed primarily at people with some picture research experience as well as those with backgrounds in photography. Some work experience or education within any aspect of the image industry. Basic knowledge of digital image technology.

LOCATION:
    The Workshop will be taking place at the LSP premises in Kensington Church Street - 5 minutes walk from Notting Hill Gate tube station: 118A Kensington Church Street, W8 4BH.


LSP is conveniently located in Notting Hill Gate, 10 seconds’ walk from Notting Hill Gate tube station, (which is on the Central, Circle and District lines) where the evening courses take place. Day (non-electronic courses) take place in the Kensington Church Street location - minutes walk from Notting Hill Gate tube station. The area is also served very well with an extensive network of buses.

 

BOOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

Please complete an online enrolment form or call: 020 7221 3399/3432/3536 to arrange your booking. If sponsoring one or more delegates and you wish to be invoiced, please fax a brief letter authorosing the sponsorship and training for the attention of the Course Director to: 020 7243 1730.

METHODS OF PAYMENT:

1.    Payment may be made over the phone with a credit card (we accept Visa and MasterCard) – receipts will be sent with the booking confirmation in the post.

2.    Payment by cheque: cheques are payable to the London School of Publishing, David Game House, 69 Notting Hill Gate, London, W11 3JS. Please attach a note with full details of delegate(s) attending. Receipts will be sent with the booking confirmation in the post.

3.    Invoices: An invoice can be sent on receipt of a letter of sponsorship authorising the training. Please note that payment of the training fee must be payable prior to the commencement of the Workshop.

TERMS and Conditions of booking:

The training fee must accompany the enrolment form or be paid over the phone once a form is submitted online in order to secure a place.

Refunds are given only if delegates are not accepted onto the course, a course is cancelled or places are full. LSP reserves the right to cancel a Workshop, or part of a Workshop at any time and will attempt to re-schedule at a time convenient to you or will offer you a full refund. Under no circumstances will compensation be payable or shall the London School of Publishing (LSP) be liable for any loss of profit. Should a delegate be unable to attend a scheduled Workshop that they have been booked on, LSP will allow for a colleague of the registered delegate to attend in their place. This request must be arranged and agreed directly with LSP’s Course Director.

Payments for those being sponsored must be made according to the payment terms on the invoice. Sponsors are bound to pay the fee in all cases of a sponsored delegate(s), including in the event of a delegate leaving employment. The sponsors retain the full responsibility of ensuring fees are settled in full.  LSP regrets that delegates will not be permitted to undertake the training should an invoice be outstanding.

TUTOR PROFILE Samantha Johnson - Picture Research Tutor : Picture Editor - Penguin

Samantha JohnsonSamantha Johnson has over twelve years’ experience as a picture researcher and is currently Picture Editor of Penguin, a publishing house which is as proud of its visual identity as it is of its authors. Within Penguin, Sam sources and commissions photography, illustration and artwork to help create Penguin's unique style. Sam has previously worked across the spectrum of the profession in both commercial and academic fields, as the supplier of images from within image libraries and archives and as the client - both freelance and in-house. Her previous employers include the Royal Photographic Society, where she managed the commercial aspects of their outstanding photographic collection,  the Science Museum, National Museum of Photography, Film & Television, the School of Oriental and African Studies and the University of Westminster, where she was a Visiting Lecturer in Modern History. Formerly a representative for the photographic industry on the British Copyright Council, Sam has in-depth and up to date knowledge of Intellectual Property Rights as they affect the picture industry today. She also has detailed knowledge of digital imaging  and current working practice for picture researchers within image libraries and on picture desks. Sam has specialist knowledge and interest in historical image archives, with a Masters degree in Modern History.
